  1. I think that their initiative will spread throughout other cities. Because I think somehow the people who started it, will spread it to other cities. They will go to that city and spread the word there, and also talk to the representative of that city , and talk to him/her about how making a place like Mesa verde is good for the neighborhood. And it will be better for those people in the those cities because the vegetables are fresher and healthier.

    3. Good point. After these people are successful in their own area, it would be a really good idea to share what they've learned with those around them in other communities.

  2. I think that initiative vegetable garden will spread throughout the other city and neighborhood. The reason is that people patronize the vegetable garden. This would encourage La Mesa Verde's group to do more for the city and neighborhood. People like Mrs. Alarcon who always pick broccoli and scrambled egg for breakfast food will also spread the news about the garden. Most people through out the world loves fresh vegetables directly from garden or farm because it is healthy than the we bought from the store or super-market. It gives us more vitamins than the one we bought inside the refrigerator in the store.

  3. Yes, I think Mesa Verde’s food initiative will develop and spread to other neighborhoods. There are several reasons for why I think so. It is a good idea for plant food by them and organized a nonprofit group. If people participate the group the people who had low-income and the poor families can have enough food to eat. To buy food are always expensive than plant by ourselves. It will save their money. The food we plant is also healthier than food from outside. We can take care of the things we plant and enjoy the process. If we have a garden which belongs to ourselves, sometimes, we will feel very enjoyable. As like the book describes, people will wake up with the heady scent of vegetables and other plants. It is a wonderful feeling for most of people when they can get it. Many people never have this feeling if they live in the city. So gardening is one of the ways that we can feel it. Especially, when we harvest what we plant and cook them, many people will feel proud of them. That’s why I think Mesa Verde's food initiative is a great idea and it will develop and spread to other people.

I agree with both of you. i think people are more than happy to have their won gardents.Once they are their own gardents, they will have the responsibility to take care the gardents.Noboday will help others take care their gardents,if the owner themself don't care, beacause people all have their own gardents to take care.

  4. I think Mesa Verde's food initiative will develop and spread to other neighborhoods. The backyard gardens planted by nonprofit group that means they save money, and they help the low-income family get vetgetables from the gardens. Also, growing in their own backyard that their do not use any pesticide for produce. So Mesa Verde's organic produce is healthy for people. I think many neighborhoods will like it. '' to see them growing is a blessing''. said by a neighborhood. She is enjoying grow vegetables by herself. ''master gardeners'' will help new families to grow organic produce. Therefore, Mesa Verde's food will spread and improved residents health by creating backyard gardens.

  7. I think Mesa Verde’s food initiative will develop and spread to other neighborhoods. The idea of those backyard gardens has a great advantage for families with lower income. Low income families can atually grow their own healthly foods in their backyard. In this way, people can produce healthier, freshier and cheaper vegetables with lower cost, and they can save a lot of money as day pass by.According to the article, people are also more likely to eat the foods that are close by their neighborhoods. However ,after the programs have set up and spread, people could get a more afforable price with the heathly foods. They can have a healthy diet too. Therefore, I think Mesa Verde's food initiative is a good idea to spread to other cities.

  8. Absolutely! This initiative will expand to other neighborhood and people will consume it because, it will be available everywhere. According to Mrs Alarcon" People don't eat vegetable unless they close by, and the human tendency is to eat whatever at hand" Eating healthy is something everybody know about. They might not eat healthy all the time, maybe they haven't get around to it, or they found it too expensive. When Verde's food becomes available in the neighborhood, people will have no choice but buy it.

  11. I think that Mesa Verde will develop and spread to other neighborhoods since it's cheaper, healthier, and much more available. Buying vegetable in a supermarket maybe expensive and/or to far to obtain. People wouldn't mind if it's in a close distance, plus it could help save you money. Also, it's more fresh and healthier than buying it in a supermarket. As well for her garden being spread to other which may influences other on doing the same thing.

    1. Good point, Jackson. This, much like what we discussed about the school bus initiative, is something that might make an area feel more like a community which, in turn, will give people pride about where they live. Growing vegetables at home might help with more than just healthy eating!

  16. I think Mesa Verde's food initiative will develop and spread to other neighborhoods because it's beneficial. They are a nonprofit group, which they can sell the excessive vegetable to the local resident, or to the neighborhood if needed, and it is cheap. The main point is, it's chemical free! and home grown! The vegetables are healthier and fresher than other vegetables that come from large farm/factory and processed with chemical stuffs. Lastly, if they are going 'Big" they will spread out the idea to the neighborhoods and to other cities and if people likes the project, so they will join too.
